Discover The Benefits of a Restful Night's Sleep.

Do you or a loved one snore? Do you consistently wake up tired even after a full night’s sleep and struggle with daytime sleepiness? If so, you may be one of over 60 million people nationally who suffer from obstructive sleep apnea.
Sleep apnea is a common but serious sleep disorder. The majority of people with sleep apnea are unaware, with over 80% of cases undiagnosed. Often, doctors focus on treating the many health issues frequently caused by sleep apnea without identifying sleep apnea as the underlying cause.
Understanding Obstructive Sleep Apnea
When we sleep, the combination of gravity and our muscles relaxing allows the tongue and surrounding soft tissues to fall back into the throat obstructing airflow in the airway. This causes pauses in breathing. These pauses are called apneas.
Potential Health Risks
Nothing will cause panic more quickly than not being able to breathe. During these apneas, the heart is stressed, blood pressure and heart rate increase, stress related hormones are released. Continuously interrupted sleep can result in serious health-related problems.
Common Sleep Apnea Symptoms
Frequent, loud snoring; Excessive daytime sleepiness; Frequent morning headaches; Insomnia; High blood pressure; Poor memory; Difficulty concentrating — these are just a few of the most common sleep apnea symptoms.
do I have
sleep apnea?
If during your complimentary consultation it is suspected that you may suffer from sleep apnea, we will assist you in ordering a convenient and accurate home sleep test designed to assist in the diagnosis of sleep-disordered breathing. In the comfort of your own bed, you’ll wear the testing device while sleeping. A Board Certified Sleep Physician will interpret the data and we will contact you to discuss your results.

Sleep Apnea Treatment Options
The two most common treatment options for Obstructive Sleep Apnea are Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and Oral Appliance Therapy.

Oral Appliance Therapy
You have a choice of treatment options for sleep apnea. Sleep physicians prescribe an oral appliance to treat mild or moderate sleep apnea. These custom fit devices are used at night while you sleep and feel similar to a mouth guard or retainer. They open your airway by gently moving your lower jaw and tongue forward. Medical insurance covers oral appliance treatment.
